- A large natural stone is carved with the figure of Shoki the Plague-Queller in line engraving. It is said that Shoki was a person who actually existed in history. He is said to have cured Emperor Xuanzong of his illness, and for this reason he is worshipped in Japan as a god to ward off pox, and is depicted on a May banner.
