The Otari Village Folklore Hall, built with a thatched gabled roof, has been used as the village office for a long time since it was moved here in the mid-Meiji period (1868-1912). The building was renovated as a local museum in 1973, and displays a large number of folk, archaeological, and historical materials of Otari Village. In particular, there are many materials related to the salt road, such as salt scales, backpacks, rare ox waraji (straw sandals), and nail clippers. Also on display are dinosaur footprint fossils discovered in 1994 in the bedrock of the Tsunzawa area of Otari Village.
The museum is closed every Tuesday and during the winter.
