- The salt road from Kitaotari Shimotera Temple to Yubara and from the Nekohana Stone Buddha Group to Kuzuha Pass is a wonderful route that retains strong reminders of a bygone era. The road is full of sights such as Mitsumine-sama, the remains of a teahouse, and the stone Buddha in Sunayama, which stands quietly in a square on the high ground of Jyonokoshi. From the Kuzuha Pass, you can enjoy a spectacular view of Echigo-Myozyo Mountain and the Himekawa Valley.
