Ushikata-Yado

Description
With a view of the Northern Alps to the left, a half-hour walk along a cedar grove will bring you to Kutsugake. Kutsugake has served as an intermediary inn on the road since ancient times. There is the only existing Ushikata inn on this Chikuni highway, and it is designated as a Nagano Prefecture treasure. The inn was designed so that the oxen and oxen could stay under one roof, and the oxen were housed in a barn so that the oxen could be viewed by the oxenman who had the floor opposite him on a high place. This is a place where both the cows and the oxen could relax after a long day. Visitors are invited to reminisce about the past while looking at the tools and exhibits displayed in the museum. The only remaining salt storehouse on the highway has been relocated from Oamijuku in the north. The thatched-roof inns and terraced rice paddies are a part of the original Japanese landscape, and Mt.
Closed on Tuesdays and during the winter.
