The Chikuni Kodo, which avoided the torrential Himekawa River and sought the shortest path to the Sea of Japan by crossing the Jizo and Misaka passes, was also an official road in the Nara Period that carried obsidian from the Wada Pass and jade from Itoigawa from ancient times. Although it is difficult to cross the pass, which is closed to snow for half a year, there are several historic places related to the battles between Takeda and Uesugi, and it is a path to walk leisurely while remembering that it is a government road and an ancient road.
